The Eagles

OK. Here we go.

The Flyers. 8-4. That’s not a super duper great record, but that’s enough to be 1st in the Atlantic Division and 3rd in the Eastern Conference. So far so good in my opinion.

The Phantoms. Woa. How did this happen? 10-1-1. That’s good enough to lead the whole AHL. I’m afraid to say much because whenever I do, the bottom falls out. However, to say the least, they are playing GREAT hockey. Moreover, thanks to the entire Phantoms organization for finally finally finally providing audio play by play for all 80 games!

The Eagles. Wow oh wow am I about done with the now 3-5 Eagles. Donovan McNabb, I’m done with you. Andy Reid. I understand that you are probably going through a lot these days. I know your family is now involved in a whole big drug mess story, but I have to say Big Andy, I’m done with you. I know what you have done for us Philly fans in the past, but I’m sorry. I’m done with you.

The Bills. Wow the Bills! Yes, I am a Bills fan! 4-4! I know that’s an awful record, but for the Bills it is great, trust me. Hey, they almost beat the Cowboys. That was a GREAT game to watch.

Well. I won’t go into it much, but there has been a lot of finger pointing at the New England Patriots for their supposed spying on opposing defenses.

Again, I won’t say much because I now have a lot of relatives on my wife’s side that are Patriot fans, and well, Momma Daubenspeck didn’t raise no dummy.

However, I figured it would only be a matter of time before some Eagles players put in their opinions on the whole thing in regards to the Super Bowl…

It’s been a long time since I posted. Things have been a bit nutty.

Anyway. The Eagles are finally done. I know it sounds like I am happy, but the stress on my poor heart just isn’t worth it. They made it much farther then I thought they would, but I really think it is time to clean house. Start over and re-think how things should be done. But that is just my opinion.

I won’t even talk about the Flyers. They have taken the word suck to a whole new level. They need more then a house cleaning. They need a clean sweep. Get rid of the old guys and start fresh. The good news is that by finishing last they will hopefully get a great draft pick.

Things are slowing down once again, so I hope to be posting just a bit more. Hopefully.

Well. Not the most stellar game I’ve watched the Eagles play, but a win is a win. It came down to the last 3 seconds, with a 20 to 20 tie over Division Rivals New York Giants. Thank you very much David Akers for a 38 yard field goal to win the game 23-20.

Now. Where did I put my blood pressure pills. I am damned close to having a heart attack.

After another great game, the Eagles have finished this season with a 10-6 record. Not the best, but after they really hit the wall I didn’t think they would win a total of 6 games.

Atlanta 17 Philadelphia 24. On to the Playoffs!

Thanks to the wonderful Cowboys, the Eagles are now the 2006 NFC East Champions. I love rooting for any team that plays against Dallas. I love it when T.O. has to eat crow. He was yet another non-factor in this game against the 2-13 Detroit Lions.

Make that the 3-13 Lions as they beat the Cowboys 39-31. It was a really good game, and I haven’t stopped shaking yet. The lead changed too many times for me to remember and it was really starting to look bad for the Lions. But they won and that’s all that matters.

Once again, the Eagles are the NFC East Champs once again (5 out of the last 6 years).

Although I can’t say much for the playoffs. I doubt that will last long.

I really did get a lot of Christmas presents. Really great gifts. However, no matter how hard the gift givers tried, they just couldn’t give me exactly what I wanted. What did I really want?

HAHAHAHHA TO!

That’s right. TO acting like a 5 year old.

Waaaaaaaaaaa I wasn’t involved early on in the game. Coach didn’t call the plays that made me look good.

Waaaaaaaaaaa Of course we lost, the quarterback didn’t throw me the ball all the time.

Waaaaaaaaaaa I dropped a lot of key passes. Wait, I shouldn’t have said that.

That was the greatest gift ever. The Eagles sweeping the Cowboys. Better yet, the Eagles totally sweeping T.O.

Andy Reid with emotion?

What can I say? An Eagles win. It’s been a while so I am a bit speechless. They started out looking relatively bad, but battled back to win 27-24 over the Carolina Panthers.

The win doesn’t look like much, until you check out the numbers. It’s still a bit early to start looking at Wild-Card stats, but there are now 4 teams with a 6-6 record that are tied for the NFC Wild-Card.

The player of the game had to be Lito Sheppard’s interception in the end zone with 25 seconds left in the game. It was a very close call, but after a booth review, he had both feet in bounds to make the catch. As you can see in the above screencap, even Andy Reid gave a big fist pump after the ref’s came out of the review booth. I needed a screencap, because Big Andy rarely shows emotions on the field.

I don’t know what to say. I really don’t. I try to remain so optimistic. I am about to give up. I’m not even talking about the Flyers. This time I am talking about the Eagles.

They are terrible. They are awful. Do me a favor, take out a thesaurus and find me the perfect synonym for terrible.

Donovan McNabb was knocked out of the game in the 2nd quarter, and his backup Jeff Garcia is just a big giant pile of suck. The whole team has fallen from a mediocre team to a team with no hope left. They supposedly have the number 1 rated offense in the league (according to the stats only) but that doesn’t matter when you can’t score points and you can’t win games versus teams with a 2-7 record.

I need a new hobby. Sports just aren’t doing it for me anymore.

Edit: You guessed it, McNabb will be out for the season.
