One of my favorite open-sourced tools HAS to be mutt. In my opinion, it is the single greatest mail client that has ever existed. It’s small, super fast, and so configurable that it makes my head hurt. If you need something done, mutt can do it.

I’ve since moved all of my mail to my colo server. All my personal mail has already been delivered there for years, and recently I started POPs-ing my mail from work using fetchmail. I refuse to use MS Exchange’s webmail. It’s just awful to use no matter what anyone else says.

Anyway. The last thing I needed to make work was remote printing. There is a separate muttprint package that will take the generic text mutt output, pretty it up, and send it to a printer. The problem used to be that I don’t obviously have a printer connected to my colo server. Even if I did, it would be a pain to drive to the facility to retrieve documents. After a bit of Google work along with some ssh magic, I’ve come up with the solution:

set print_command="muttprint -p -| ssh me@my_work_desktop_hostname \"lpr -P techlaser\""

That’s right, the power of the | (pipe for you window’s n00bs). Encryped printing from my colo to my office laser printer. Nice.

Well it has been quite a while since I have actually gone to the movie theater to see something worth while. Actually, I think the last time was in September of 2006 to see Artie Lange’s Beer League.

Well the next time might have to wait until May of 2008. That’s right, its finally time for the Iron Man. If you don’t know who/what I am talking about, you should honestly be ashamed of yourself. Go, right now, and read all of the Wikipedia article on Iron Man.

What are you waiting for!?

OK. Here we go.

The Flyers. 8-4. That’s not a super duper great record, but that’s enough to be 1st in the Atlantic Division and 3rd in the Eastern Conference. So far so good in my opinion.

The Phantoms. Woa. How did this happen? 10-1-1. That’s good enough to lead the whole AHL. I’m afraid to say much because whenever I do, the bottom falls out. However, to say the least, they are playing GREAT hockey. Moreover, thanks to the entire Phantoms organization for finally finally finally providing audio play by play for all 80 games!

The Eagles. Wow oh wow am I about done with the now 3-5 Eagles. Donovan McNabb, I’m done with you. Andy Reid. I understand that you are probably going through a lot these days. I know your family is now involved in a whole big drug mess story, but I have to say Big Andy, I’m done with you. I know what you have done for us Philly fans in the past, but I’m sorry. I’m done with you.

The Bills. Wow the Bills! Yes, I am a Bills fan! 4-4! I know that’s an awful record, but for the Bills it is great, trust me. Hey, they almost beat the Cowboys. That was a GREAT game to watch.
