$ sudo emerge -pu world

We trust you have received the usual lecture from the local System
Administrator. It usually boils down to these three things:

    #1) Respect the privacy of others.
    #2) Think before you type.
    #3) With great power comes great responsibility.

Hrm. Where does #3 come from? What do you think?

It is Friday night (well technically now it is Saturday morning). That means update time. I generally update all of the main servers at work on a Friday night. Linux servers, Windows servers, the whole works. We used to do it during the week, but it really wasn’t worth the effort. Several of the server applications that we run needed all open files (on the network) to be closed. That’s really tough to do during the day, when 800+ machines are logged in and using their home directories.

I can suck it up and take care of business late at night. Or morning.
