Well. I wouldn’t call it a definite sign that the Flyers are indeed back on track, but it has to count for something. A 7-4 win over the Pacific Division leading Anaheim Ducks sure is a good start to something serious. Too bad the next few games are on the other coast. It really feels odd when the game starts here at 10:00pm.

I won’t complain much if they actually win, however. The Flyers are still tied for dead last in the entire league…

Roomba

My New Roomba

Brother Mike talked about how well his Roomba cleaning robot worked, so I decided to give one a try. woot had the Roomba Discovery model on sale, so the time was now. It just arrived yesterday, so I spent last night charging it up. It should almost be done charging, and when it is complete, I shall never vacuum again!

Not that I really ever did anyway.

Edit. – Wow. That totally worked better then I ever thought it would. It did get stuck under the couch, but I think that is only because our couch sides aren’t even, so it can only really enter it from the ends. A pillow here and there and that problem was solved. After it ran the full cycle, it found its way back to the recharging base and plugged itself back in. Wonderful! I couldn’t believe the dirt it picked up. One click of the release button and a quick shake of the filter and it was clean and ready for the next cycle. I think tomorrow I will set it up for the other rooms just as I am leaving for work. This thing totally rocks. Get yourself one. Now. NOW!

Ok. I was just too attached to the oddprocess.org domain. I just couldn’t shake it. I’ll keep the new one for “future considerations,” but otherwise I have moved the new WordPress weblog back to the oddprocess.org domain. I promise this is the last move, so you can feel free to adjust your bookmarks/favorites one last time. One thing I have always felt strongly about was keeping all of my old archives. I have been keeping weblog of some sort since February 1st, 2000. That is a really long time that has a lot of my daily nonsense in the database, and I’ve kept every post since day one. I just need to add a link section to the old archives, pictures, and other miscellaneous pages.

Well. It seems the Flyers are going back into the past a bit. they have signed Todd Fedoruk back to the club. Fridge, as he is called, played on the 2005 Calder Cup Champion Phantoms team. He played almost four full seasons before being traded away in 2005.

I’m not really sure what they are planning. But signing a big brute like Fridge doesn’t seem to make much sense. Quote Flyers new General Manager Paul Holmgren:

“He has that emotion, intensity, determination and leadership that we look for in a player. He is still a young player and he is a player that has always been known for his toughness and the willingness to aid his teammates. ”

Let’s hope that somehow magically puts more goals on the scoreboard.

As you can probably see, I’ve made a few changes. For a long time people I have thought about the idea of moving or converting my website to WordPress. After a few trials and tests, I finally took the plunge. WordPress is just too nice to NOT use. It is very actively maintained and there are ton of nice themes and add-ons that can be used as well. It just doesn’t make sense to not use it. The install was easy enough. I think the hardest part was actually picking out a new domain name. I could have used the old one, but it was getting a bit stale. I needed a change and this one seemed more then fitting.

And not just because the Flyers are off to their worst start in their 40 year existence. Well, that sure helped.

There isn’t much to look at just yet. I am working on converting the old pictures and the gallery setup to the new site. It will take some time, but that is mainly because I am really lazy. But all in good time.

Please, update your bookmarks.
